5th Annual Regina Ice and Fire Carnival

Great Excursions is proud to be once again a co-producer of the Regina Ice & Fire Carnival. Thanks to the support of our many partners, to the exceptional collaboration of Regina Torch Relay organizers, and to the generosity of our many sponsors, this year's edition could very well be the best one yet.

5th Annual Regina Ice and Fire Carnival Events

We are excited to announce the schedule of events for this weekend's festivities. Join us!

Saturday January 9th:

  • 1:00 pm Snow Show Opening and Procession through the site
  • 3:00 pm Carnival Performances (Ice 9 and Tangora)

Sunday January 10th:

  • 1:00 pm Carnival Opens
  • 3:00 pm Carnival Procession through the site
  • 4:00 pm Carnival Performances (Ice 9, Tangora, and Mapping)
  • 5:00pm Closing Performance (Ice 9, Tangora, and Mapping)

The Carnival will run from 1:00 to  6:00 pm on both days. Other activities such as the Beaver Lodge and Children's Area, Snowflake Museum, Snow Sculpture Show, Cross Country Skiing, Teepee with Sound Installation, and Hot Chocolate will take place throughout the entire day. Sleigh Rides will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday only.

We hope to see you all out at the Carnival this weekend to celebrate this beautiful Saskatchewan winter!

Carnival volunteers are still needed

Building a Community of Dreams – Honouring the Canadian 2010 Olympics

The City of Regina is pleased to be designated as a host community for an Olympic Torch Relay event, set to occur the afternoon and evening of Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Regina Sportplex. The event will leave a lasting legacy of our vibrant city, instilling a deep sense of pride in our community.

The event will begin at 3:30pm and run until 8:00pm. Everyone is invited to participate in what will be a free, family, fun-filled event celebrating and honouring sport, culture, and entertainment. Various components include a sports festival, the 5th Annual Ice & Fire Carnival, indoor entertainment, the World’s Longest Shinny Game, an Aboriginal Round Dance, Vancouver Olympic Entertainment and much more! The event will conclude with a memorable fireworks display.
