Canada! by Great Excursions at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum on January 16, 2008, at 7:30 PM

In honour of Great Excursions’ 10th anniversary, the founder of Saskatchewan’s original “boutique” travel company, Claude-Jean Harel, is inviting the public to a narrated photographic travelogue featuring some of Canada’s most distinctive holiday experiences.

The presentation, themed “Canada! by Great Excursions” will invite participants to explore the powerful notion of authenticity and the role it plays in today’s Canadian holiday offerings.

This open house will take place at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum auditorium on Wednesday January 16 at 7:30 pm. Admission is free.

About Claude-Jean Harel, MA MAHI

Claude-Jean Harel is a Regina-based anthropologist and business owner. He brings to tourism 25 years of communications experience in the fields of culture, heritage and science, generating national and international attention for the distinctive qualities of the North American Plains region.

Claude-Jean not only crafts tourism products as reportages intended to be lived by guests, he is also a regular contributor to various regional, national and international radio and television programs. Claude-Jean's work has won numerous awards including: the Canadian Ethnic Journalists' and Writers' Club award. He is a former Commonwealth Relations Trust bursar. His work was nominated for a UNESCO Award; and in 2004, he was admitted to the degree of Master of Arts in Archaeology and Heritage with Distinction at the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom.

Claude-Jean is currently Associate Editor of the Canadian Tourism Commission's business-to-business TOURISM family of publications.

Later this winter he will deliver tourism product development sessions at Québec City and at the Governor’s Agri/Eco-Tourism Workshop in North Platte , Nebraska.
