An incredible experience

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Hours of riding each day over amazing country with stunning mountain views, on great horses. Seeing some incredible wildlife, including an enormous male Grizzly rubbing on trees!
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Try to have a good level of fitness before you go - it will make your life easier and free you up to enjoy the experience all the more. I didn't have binoculars, but would recommend others take them. Also a camera / video camera with a powerful zoom is handy.
Long sleeved shirts are recommended for a reason. There is some pretty close brush to ride through.
The guides and horses are very experienced, if you relax and trust both you'll get the most out of your holiday!
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Yes, definitely. The operator is locally owned and operated, and employs several local people in various capacities. They also contribute directly to the local economy through purchases of food, equipment, horse care, outfitting etc, both for ranch upkeep and the large volume of guests.
Both the ranch and the camps allow only biodegradable soaps and rubbish is carried out from the camps. They also ensure minimum environmental degradation by following best practices and legislation eg complying with ranging restrictions and regulations for their horses.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
An incredible experience. An incredible experience. The horses were happy and healthy, and being able to ride for hours a day around the Chilcotin Mountains was such a wonderful freedom.
The staff were fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable, competent and great fun to be with. They made my holiday an unforgettable experience!
