It is with great pleasure that I took part in August 2008 in the Northern Seminar on Indigenous people. The convivial and homelike welcome by the team allowed me to take full measure of the beauty and hidden treasures of the Mushuau-Nipi. The wildlife, the flora, the legends, and the George River archaeological sites remind us the importance to really protect this unique territory too often sought-after by developers without any regard to its specificity. I wish to thank the team for this immersion in a seminar filled with culture and adventures, to a point in our history where too often we are strangers in our own country.
